A hub in the child-raising community of Bellingham, Time In Play Cafe was created
on the premise that families and individuals--now more than ever--need a ‘‘third
place,” neither work nor home, where they come to connect with other members of their
community in a relaxing, interactive, inclusive environment.
Named for its mission, Time In provides an indoor space where children, their families,
and mutually supportive community members may interact in an interference- and shame-free
fun, physical, dynamic, nourishing, and creative environment. We base our space
on the ideology that children don’t necessarily need time-outs for being contrarily
unique, messily creative, hugely imaginative, or strivingly overbearing in an adult-centric
world: they thrive in realms of affirming interface with family and community. Here
is a worry-free, child-celebrating space full of action, imagination, creation, and
exploration. Play and partake! Explore, engage, and satisfy your child’s--and your
own--developing sense and capacity to be pleasantly in-time.
Bellingham's own, Award winning, DJ Yogoman, has been selecting musical tracks in
Bellingham since 1998 and we're glad to have him Monday evenings from 5-9pm, spinning
vinyl records at Time In Play. DJ Yogoman specializes in Jamaican and Soul Music,
but when he brings the Wild Rumpus, you will also hear, African, New Orleans, Punk,
Rock N Roll, Latin, Pop, Hip Hop, Disco, etc., and some random gems from the underground
mixed in. Whatever it takes to keep the kids dancing, playing and moving to the
